“Thick as Thieves” is a colorful figure study on thick watercolor paper.

I love the way these women are sitting together with their shoulders touching indicating a level of closeness and companionship that I cherish in my own relationships. We all need a friend like this, right? I also put them in athletic shoes - these ladies work hard and they get shit done. I like the unexpected details in the shoes and the clothing…they are individuals who are proud of buckling traditions and expectations. These women are unapologetically themselves.
