“Table for One” is an eclectic & richly nuanced painting with layers of acrylic + oils.

Creating art is like keeping a visual diary, and each new painting is an entry revealing bits and pieces of my journey.   

Looking at this painting, I see someone  content with their own company, yet their setting of choice is in a public place.   Wild, unruly foliage and layers of clothing envelop and partially hide the figure as they look directly at the viewer.   

Push and pull. 

I find that when I create figurative work, I enjoy adding details that are a bit offbeat in otherwise normal settings.  In this painting, I choose rugged boots for the figure versus heels or flats that are typically paired with a dress.  The wine bottle also has stars and moon imagery conveying an element of spirituality and mysticism.
